The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu has an expressive wet limestone bouquet that is very well defined, but stricter and more linear than the Vaucoupin. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, perhaps more elegant than the Vaucoupin; this is a more understated Chablis that allows the terroir to come through. Marc Cameron told me he picked this a little earlier and I think that has resulted in a better wine. I expect this to land at the top of my banded score when I taste it in bottle.
Antonio Galloni Vinous
(from 42-year-old vines): Melon, white pepper and quinine on the nose, accented by tangy lime and crushed stone. Concentrated orchard from and saline flavors come across as a bit more exotic than those of the Vaucoupin. Began a touch dry but aeration brought better balance and length. Just a touch warm but this wine shows good lift for the vintage.
