The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Reserve is a gorgeous wine laced with minerals, graphite, crushed rocks and bright, citrus fruit. A graceful, elegant wine, the Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Reserve floats on the palate in a focused, beautifully delineated style. The finish is exceptionally elegant and refined. Readers looking for a textbook Blanc de Blancs from Mesnil at an affordable price need look no further. This is superb juice, and is also a noticeable step up from the NV Extra Brut for just a few dollars more. The Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Reserve is Chardonnay from the limestone-rich soils of Mesnil. Disgorged: July, 2009, (not indicated on the label).
A luxurious, comforting Champagne with lots of flavor and an invitingly rich texture. Its buttery, figgy aromas and creamy flavors are layered and complex, lingering on the lively finish.
Guy Charlemagne is a quality driven, 'Grand Cru' grower champagne, situated in the heart of Côte des Blancs, in the grand cru village of Le Mesnil- sur-Oger, where Chardonnay grape is exclusively planted on limestone soils. The house style is characterised with finesse, minerality and distinctive fresh acidity - a great reflection of its grand cru terroir.
Guy Charlemagne uses reserve wine blend (39%) to maintain the house style for this cuvee and light dosage of 8g/l. This cuvee is vinified in thermo regulated stainless steel and matured for 2-3 years in underground cellars.
Pale yellow colour, steady stream of fine bubbles. Very citrusy aromas and acacia notes. Creamy mouth with an exceptional length, the citrus notes of lime and pink grapefruit give it freshness before melting into notes of fresh hazelnuts and yeasty brioche.
Serve as aperitif or with warm oyster.
